Join our team of nature enthusiasts on a half mile walk along the Biosphere 2 grounds, where you will have the opportunity to observe both native and migratory bird species. While our primary focus is on the birds, we will also explore the unique geology of the Santa Catalina foothills and identify some of the native plants that provide food and shelter for our local wildlife.
The route includes some uneven terrain and slight elevation changes, providing vantage points that are perfect for spotting activity in the desert scrub. Whether you are an experienced birder or a curious beginner, the slow pace of this 45-minute walk allows for observation of the flora, fauna, and natural history that define this high-desert ecosystem.
Biosphere 2 has a limited number of binoculars available to borrow; however, you are welcome to bring your own.
